Today in class, we went over many of the questions for the second MCAS practice test from the packet. We found that it was important to remember the difference between transverse waves (vibrate sideways compared to motion, like tops of water waves) and longitudinal waves (vibrate in the direction of wave motion, like sound). We also talked about waves that travel through matter (sound, seismic, water waves) and waves that need no stuff to travel through (all types of electromagnetic waves including radio, InfraRed, visible light, UV, X-rays and gamma rays).
The homework was to read over the three page summary of physics material. Then pick the section that you know the LEAST about, and take a page of notes on the material that was covered. You may take notes on additional sections for
The trick is to make sure that you relearn some stuff, or at least dust off the stuff that you have forgotten.
If you missed today, please take notes on the handout, and make sure that you can show the completed MCAS packet on Monday, as it is worth 20 points.
